Portugal Hotel project&To see the actual outdoor recliner, you can come and have a look here.

This hotel used a lot of our outdoor net fabric lounge chairs, aluminum net fabric chairs, woven sofa sets, and oilwood folding chairs.
Case Details

A luxury resort operator in Portugal’s Algarve region, managing multiple high-season coastal properties, needed durable, sun-resistant outdoor furniture for guest-facing leisure zones — and selected our custom-engineered sunlounger, sofa, and patio coffee table series after evaluating three regional suppliers.

Client Background & Operational Challenge

The client operates four 4-star beachfront resorts along Portugal’s southern coast, each with open-air terraces, rooftop lounges, and poolside cabanas serving over 1,200 guests weekly during peak season from May to October.

Prior to 2015, they sourced outdoor furniture from two local Portuguese manufacturers — but faced recurring issues: rattan weaves faded within 10 months of direct sun exposure, Sunbrella fabric seams delaminated after repeated rain-and-dry cycles, and foam cushions retained water overnight, leading to mildew and guest complaints about damp seating.

Their procurement team required a single-source solution that met EU REACH and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifications, supported full traceability of material batches, and guaranteed consistent color retention across all units — not just sample swatches.

Unlike typical hotel chains with centralized procurement, this operator managed each property’s furnishing refresh independently — meaning every order had to ship complete, pre-assembled, and ready for immediate installation without on-site labor or tools.

Tailored Material & Structural Integration

We specified Win-tech® HDPE rattan — not standard polyethylene — with UV-stabilized pigments integrated at the extrusion stage, ensuring fade resistance beyond 3,000 hours of accelerated xenon testing (ISO 4892-2), validated by third-party lab reports shared with the client before tooling.

For upholstery, we used Sunbrella® Marine Grade fabric (not commercial-grade) with heat-sealed seam construction instead of stitched seams, eliminating capillary wicking paths — a critical detail for coastal humidity where salt-laden air accelerates seam degradation.

All cushion cores were Quick Dry™ open-cell foam with 3mm perforations spaced at 12mm intervals, allowing full drainage in under 90 seconds after heavy rain — verified through onsite soak-and-drain tests at their Faro warehouse prior to bulk shipment.

Each piece was pre-assembled using marine-grade stainless steel hardware (A4 grade, ISO 3506), with powder-coated aluminum frames finished in matte anthracite — chosen specifically to minimize glare reflection onto adjacent guest rooms and reduce surface temperature rise in midday sun.

Deployment Across Four Properties & Long-Term Performance

The initial order covered 142 units — 56 sunloungers, 32 modular sofa sets, and 54 patio coffee tables — shipped in three consolidated containers, each fully labeled by property address and zone (e.g., “Praia da Rocha Rooftop – Cushion Set A”).

Installation required zero on-site assembly: all units arrived fully tightened, pre-leveled, and wrapped in UV-blocking polyethylene film that doubled as temporary rain protection during unloading — a request the client made after observing delays during their previous supplier’s delivery in rainy October.

By Q3 2016, all four properties had completed full rollout. Maintenance logs show no replacement of foam cores or fabric panels over the first 36 months — only routine cleaning with pH-neutral soap and water, per the care guide co-developed with the client’s housekeeping supervisors.

When the client expanded to a fifth property in 2018, they reused the same material specifications and structural drawings — requesting only new finish samples — confirming design continuity and long-term supply confidence without requalification.

Guest feedback scores for terrace comfort increased from 3.2 to 4.6 out of 5 across all four properties within one season — measured via post-stay QR-code surveys embedded in room keycards.

Maintenance labor hours for outdoor furniture dropped by more than half compared to the prior supplier — verified against their facility manager’s quarterly time-tracking sheets.

No warranty claims were filed for material failure or structural integrity in the first five years — exceeding the client’s internal benchmark of ≤2% annual claim rate for outdoor assets.

If you manage multiple hospitality sites in Mediterranean or subtropical climates, you can expect consistent batch-to-batch color fidelity, zero rework on arrival, and documented performance data for materials exposed to intense UV, salt air, and thermal cycling — not just lab claims.

Start with a site-specific sample kit — including actual fabric swatches, foam cutouts, and a mini-assembled frame section — then proceed to a pilot order for one property zone. We’ll share full test reports, material traceability docs, and a phased rollout timeline before production begins.

This project launched in March 2015 and remains fully operational across all original locations.
